4. ACCEPTANCE AND AGREEMENT

Each applicant and parent or guardian accepts all the inherent risks of a gap year and all activities associated or ancillary thereto.
By signing the acceptance form the applicant or where the applicant is under the age of 18 years his/her parent or legal guardian agrees to be bound by the conditions set out in this agreement.
5. HEALTH AND FITNESS REQUIREMENTS
It is the obligation of each applicant to ensure that he/she is in good health prior to departure. Each applicant confirms that he/she has answered the questions on the Application Form and other requisite medical forms accurately and agrees to promptly inform The Gap Network if any of the information supplied becomes incorrect before accepting a gap placement.
Each applicant is responsible for obtaining and having available the necessary documents including visas to enable him/her to work as a gap assistant and agrees to comply with all legislation, immigration, customs and foreign exchange regulations of the country in which they are placed as a gap assistant.
The Gap Network requires each applicant to take out comprehensive travel insurance. The cost of insurance is in addition to the price quoted for the gap placement fee. Full details of a suggested insurer and policy are available on request. Each applicant must decide what supplementary cover he/she requires.
The prices quoted include payment of a non-refundable application fee of $195 AUD and on acceptance of a gap placement the payment of a non-refundable fee of $1755 AUD. The receipt of the gap placement fee ($1755 AUD) ensures the applicant secures a gap placement.
Each applicant is responsible for:
· Arrangement and payment of all his/her costs for passports, visa and UK Health Care Surcharge
· Organisation and payment of airfares, transfers and airport taxes
· Arrangements and payment of comprehensive travel insurance
· Providing his/her own prescribed medical requirements, personal equipment and clothing.
The gap placement fee of $1755 AUD is a non-refundable charge. No refunds will be provided for a change of mind. Where there are exceptional and extenuating personal circumstances, The Gap Network may exercise discretion in arranging a refund (full or partial). Such applications will be considered on a case by case basis and must be verified in writing by an approved and independent third party.
